Health System Partners

University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) – Rochester, NY

Since 2005, we have supported the University of Rochester Medical Center on many sign projects, including main hospital gateways, building identity signage, and interior and exterior wayfinding. Additionally, we helped URMC ensure a consistent brand identity across the organization, working with their original brand concept to develop a complete exterior sign family.

Rochester Regional Health (RRH) – Rochester, NY

Our partnership with RRH began in 2005 on several significant projects for Unity Health, which later merged into the RRH system. Following the success of the Unity Hospital project, we were asked to participate in a significant rebranding effort for Rochester Regional Health. This involved designing a comprehensive exterior modular sign system and implementing brand standards across various RRH facilities. Over the years, we have completed over 200 projects for RRH, including landmark signs, exterior building signage, donor recognition projects, and a large-scale digital readerboard.

Kaleida Health – Buffalo, NY

For Kaleida Health, our team created exterior signage, Interior wayfinding, departmental signage, and patient communication boards across several sites, including Buffalo General, Gates Vascular Institute, and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Leading New York City Hospital

We completed a site audit and wayfinding system for a world-renowned New York City hospital, part of a complex inner-city hospital environment. The hospital had previously invested in new signage, but the results were not getting positive feedback from users. The IDS design team was called in to rationalize and simplify the system with recommendations for improvement. Following a design and prototype process, we produced a comprehensive multi-floor modular sign system and digital directories.

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Care Center – Buffalo, NY

For Buffalo’s Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Care Center, IDS provided visual scenarios for an array of sign options, including wayfinding markers and illuminated markers and wraps. The photorealistic renderings helped the client understand colors, materials, and scale. Our value-engineering approach allowed the project to be fabricated within strict budget parameters, which included building signs and digital marquees.

Mount Nittany Health Toftrees – State College, PA

Our newest healthcare client hired IDS to complete exterior wayfinding and building identification signs for their new Outpatient Center, which will open in the summer of 2024.
