Design Facilitation
The Syracuse VA Medical Center in Central New York is over 60 years old and one of the largest in the country. For this new renovation IDS collaborated with Welch Construction, S2 Ventures and Wayfinding Associates to facilitate, fabricate and install over 35 different exterior sign types, including: wayfinding signs, large scale channel letters, box signs and electronic message centers.
Challenge
The project was led by the general contractor and involved extensive coordination for fabrication and installation. Particular issues included interpreting the design team’s conceptual approach and planning large-scale installation of monument and building mounted signs.
Strategy
IDS worked with the stakeholders to devise an approval plan focused on clear documentation of all sign types and surveys for locations and building mounting areas.
Approach
IDS started with conceptual drawings from the design team and developed a full set of construction documents for approval. IDS also conducted complete location surveys that resulted in full installation coordination of all sign types.
The Process
Using Custom Architectural Signs, Illuminated Signs, Digital Signs and Design Facilitation, IDS followed the approach below to deliver an impressive solution for the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
